Thank you Jocelyn, both for your comment and the restack. You’re right, there is too much devastation being visited upon people who are peaceful hardworking souls. Minnesota is a good home, with good loving people who welcome diversity in our community. We don’t like the Federal Government telling us to send away our friends who have been woven into the fabric of our culture for so long.
The Muppet framework here is brilliant. Using Animal vs Kermit to illustrate different helper energies really clarifies something I've been thinking about with activism. I've bounced betwen being a Gonzo and wanting to be more Kermit, and this helped me see that both matter depending on the moment. The Scooter section about legal observers hit home becuz I did documentation work at a few protests last year and that "calm hands for evidence" line captures exactly why it felt so important even when the urge was to jump in louder.
The problem here in MN is that many animals and gonzos are in from out of town doing things in ways Minnesotans never would. While yes, the animals fight so that the Kermits can stay peaceful, right now the animals are making things worse. We need more Kermits Scooters and Big Birds.
