How to LET GO of over-thinking, over-doing, and over-worrying
so that you can try new things, have adventures, and enjoy life more.
Worry, anxiety, over-trying, over-doing, and over-thinking energies all live in your hamstrings. This is because your hamstrings are the muscles in your body that make you feel safe. When you don’t feel safe, they tighten and engage. Too much tighten from not feeling safe (worry, anxiety, etc.) and the hammies get over-tight.
Unfortunately, most of us were taught to stretch the hamstrings in a way that only increases anxiety, because the stretch doesn’t feel safe.
There are right and wrong ways to stretch your hamstrings.
The wrong way is to touch your toes with your knees straight. Or worse, strive to touch your forehead to your thumbs while your fingers are wrapped around your toes. This all leads to unsuccessfully beating yourself up because you can’t touch your toes with your knees straight.
I invite you to just give up that fight. It’s not worth it. Stop trying so hard and try easy.
