From your description, I feel that Minnesota really COULD be our 11th province. Just an observation - No pressure. πŸ‡¨πŸ‡¦β™₯οΈπŸ‡¨πŸ‡¦

pretty please! many of us Minnesotans have been saying this for a long time. Please, Oh Canada, will you adopt us?

Shortly after all this started with Operation Metro Surge, I awoke one night after a terrible nightmare turned dream-ful wish. I was at the Whipple Building receiving people who had been released (which is something I haven’t done)…and in came this massive convoy of white military hummers, hundreds of them. and out of them poured thousands of soldiers, dressed in all white, save for a tiny red maple leaf on their shoulders, 1/3 the size of a normal patch. They stormed the building, detained every single ICE agent, and took over operations. Then Walz announced that this was coordinated between him and the Canadian PM and that Minnesota was being absorbed into Canada.

If only it were as simple as having a dream come true. Your President would have such a tantrum, he'd likely nuke both of us. We are paying attention. Those who can afford to are donating and purchasing paid subscriptions. Fixed income, Veteran, Senior here, with hands up and out to Minnesotans, no matter where they arrived from. No elbows to you.

Absolutely wonderful, moving post. I have neighbors here in Texas, "winter Texans" we call them, who spend part of their time here and the other part at their lake cabin in MN. I see them in an entirely different context now.

So beautiful! As I sit here reading with quiet tears in my eyes I see you and all Minnesotans. I grew up there and could not be prouder of you all! Thank you for being the bright star and example of love, kindness and compassion while still not putting up with bullshit. β€οΈπŸ’•

since you grew up here, you know the power of duck duck grey duck!

I do! When I moved away I was surprised that no one knew what I was talking bf about. The part where you make up a color or polkadots or some other thing for the duck was so heartwarming and fond memory of mine.

Awesome article, Teri. I feel reminded and replanted to teh time in Germany just before reunification. That had been written in the preamble of the Constitution when the new one, after WWII, was written. People always thought it would take a huge, massive, possibly military event ever to happen. In the end, it took the people who wanted their freedom, peace, and a better way to live with each other to successfully complete the largest peaceful revolution of a country, resulting in a reborn, unified entity. Many of the things you write about are exactly what the people there did adn the most important thing was: They knew that as long as hope was strong, alive, and growing, the end result was never in doubt. I see that in your words and the actions you describe about Minnesotans.
